Joanne K. Kuhtz, 76, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and formerly of Ionia, passed away 
on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013. She was born on July 23, 1936 in Ionia County, Mich., 
the daughter of William and Agnes (Gazella) Kuhtz.

Ms. Kuhtz was born and raised in Ionia, and graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul 
Catholic High School in 1954. Joanne attended Ferris State Institute, 
graduating with an Associates Degree as an Executive Secretary for many years. 
She worked for over 25 years for Gerontology Network Services as Executive 
Secretary to the Director. After retirement, she continued to work one day a 
week with Gerontology Services, and was also a volunteer at the Alzheimer's 
Association and Meijer Gardens. 

Preceding her in death were her parents. Surviving are her brother, Lawrence 
(Shirley) Kuhtz of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Sue Ann Kuhtz of Saranac; three 
nephews and two nieces; three great nephews and three great nieces.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 2, 
2013, with Rev. Thomas Boufford presiding. Rite of Committal will take place in 
the spring at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Ionia. The family will receive 
friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St. 
Ionia. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Friday.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ss. Peter & Paul 
School Fund, or the Kent County Animal Shelter, in memory of Joanne. Online
