Gwen N. Kuieck, 88, of Ionia, passed away Dec. 31, 2014, in Ionia.  She was born
March 12, 1926, in Ionia, the daughter of Fred and Nellie (Payne) Barnes.  Gwen
married Marvin Kuieck March 24, 1946, at the First Methodist Church of Ionia. 
He preceded her in death May 21, 2004.

Gwen was a member of First United Methodist Church for over 70 years.  She was a
life-long member of Eastern Star, a member of SERA and a member of Cassie
Stewart Circle.  She worked for Ionia Public Schools for 11 years, 1978-1989.

Gwen is survived by her children, David Kuieck and Peter Lans of Boston, Debra
(Phil) Betz of Grand Rapids, Diane (Kevin) Grummet of Ionia, Denise (Kernie)
Wireman of Ionia and Darren (Angie) Kuieck of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren;
and nine great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and
husband.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2014, at First United
Methodist Church in Ionia with Pastor Jon Van Op officiating.  Visitation will
be Friday 4-7 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  Memorial contributions may be
made to First United Methodist Church in Ionia or Ionia Area Hospice.
