Mrs. Kurnat had been ill a long time with multiple thrombocytopenia, a rare blood disease, and received more blood than any person known in the nation. She was born August 17, 1893 in Ohio, the daughter of Zack and Mary W. Walters Lapp. Mrs. Kurnat was married at Maple Valley, August 7, 1911 to Charles Kurnat. They resided in Greenville until moving to Ionia 16 years ago. She was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic church. Surviving are her husband, Charles; three daughters, Mrs. Archie Teneyeck of Gowan, Mrs. Michael Harrigal of Dunedin, Fla., and Mrs. Albert Schribner of Hopland, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Lincoln of Greenville, and one brother, Lester House of Gowan. A son, Paul, preceded her in death four years ago, also a daughter, Sophie, several years ago. The body will be at Myers funeral home where services will be announced later.
