Mr. Kussmal was born in Germany August 10, 1871, and came to this country at the age of 17. He had lived in Lake Odessa and vicinity. He was employed by Smith Bros. and Velte Elevator company until his retirement three years ago when he moved to Detroit. He was a life member and past master of Lake Odessa F. & A.M. Surviving are his wife, Anna; a son-in-law, Vernon Chapin, of Detroit; three brothers, Emanuel, Ernest and George of Lake Odessa; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Straley of Woodbury, Mrs. Dora Prince of Detroit and Mrs. Kate Ryncan of Oregon. Funeral services will be held from the Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa Thursday at 2 p.m. under the auspices of the F. & A.M. lodge. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery. The body will be brought Wednesday to the Lake Odessa funeral home.
