GERTRUDE LACHNIET
CLARKSVILLE - Gertrude Lachniet, 79, of Clarksville died April 5, at Pennock
Hospital in Hastings.

She was born Aug. 25, 1909, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Jacob and Olive Kennedy
Tanif.

She attended Kelloggsville schools and was married to William Lachniet on November
21, 1929, in Kelloggsville. They lived in the Kelloggsville area for two years after
they married until they moved to their farm near Clarksville.

She was a member of Alto Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, William; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Elaine) Dykhuis of
Alton; two sons, Roger Lachniet of Collbran, Colo., and Carl Lachniet of Bedford, Va.; one
sister, Mary Mingerink of Shellbyville; one brother, Marvin Tanif of Caledonia; 20
grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Alto Church with the Rev. Gene
Sickler officiating. Burial will be in Clarksville.

Friends may meet the family on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Koops Funeral
Chapel, Clarksville.
