Lafferty, 71, of 427 Front street, Belding, died suddenly late Saturday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Delbert Dollaway in Bronson. He was born December 14, 1890 at Putnam, Ohio, and was married in Grand Rapids July 3, 1914 to Isa Maybelle Drund. She died February 6, 1961. Mr. Lafferty was a stonemason 40 years and for a number of years worked for Michigan Consolidated Gas company. He retired in 1956. Surviving are five sons, James Lafferty of Ionia, Theodore, Philip and Calvin of Belding, and Hollis of Rockford; seven daughters, Mrs. Isalene Sipley of Gobles, Mrs. Marilyn Brooks of Muir, Mrs. Gloria Ferguson of Joliet, Ill., Mrs. Theora Dollaway of Bronson, Mrs. Alice Crow of Rockford, Ill,, Mrs. Carol Rasmussen of Syracuse, N. Y., and Zerata Lafferty of Baraboo, Wis., two brothers, Dwight and Kenneth Lafferty of Watertown, N.Y.; two sisters, Mrs. Georgia Kolb of Watertown, N.Y., and Mrs. Howard Thompson of Adams Center, N. Y.; 36 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body will be at Ellis funeral home in Belding until Tuesday noon when it will be taken to the Seventh Day Adventist church in Belding burial will be at Otisco cemetery. Bearers will be James, Theodore, Philip, Hollis and Calvin Lafferty and Norman Brooks.
