The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, December 6, 1961

Mrs. Eugenia Lafler, 66, of 459 Beresford street, died at 12:05 Wednesday 
morning at her home.  She had been in ill health several years.  She was born 
in Hubbardston February 22, 1895, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fowler, 
and had resided in Easton township since 1944.  Her husband, Jason to whom she 
was married 49 years ago, died in 1948.  Mrs. Lafler was a member of First 
Methodist church.

She is survived by a son, Karl Lafler of Eaton township a daughter, Mrs. 
Dorothy Trebian of Stanton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 
three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Laden and Mrs. Pearl Taylor of Ionia, and Mrs. 
Maude Fowser of Grand Rapids; three brothers, Marion Fowler of Hubbardston, 
Vernon of Rives Junction, and Marvin of Denver, Colo.

The body will repose at the residence Thursday.  Funeral service will be 
conducted at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at Myers funeral home with burial in 
the family lot at Easton cemetery.
