The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, May 18, 1964
Karl J. Lafler, 49, of 432 Price street, employee of Consumers Power 22 years, 
died unexpectedly at Gaylord Saturday afternoon following a heart attack.  He 
was born in Hubbardston January 24, 1915, son of Jason and Eugenia Fowler 
Lafler.  September 5, 1936, he was married to Neva Schaffer and since his 
marriage had resided in Ionia.  He was a member of First Methodist church and 
F&AM 36.

Surviving besides his wife, are five sons, Karlyle, Gary, Marvin, Lynn and 
Blaine, and one daughter, Susan, all of Ionia; five grandchildren; and a 
sister, Mrs. Dorothy Trebian of Stanton.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Myers funeral home with interment 
at Easton cemetery.
