Sentinel Standard – Monday, 9 May 1938

Funeral services were held for James M. LaFouche, 68, a former resident of 
Ionia, who lives at Saranac Saturday afternoon, May 7, at the Myers Funeral 
Home on East Main Street at 2 o’clock.  The Rev. Frederick Dunbar, pastor of 
the Ionia Methodist church officiated.  Interment was in Tuttle cemetery.

Pallbearers were Godiup G. Witzel, Walter Raymond, James L. Rhoades and Ray G. 
Eckert, all of Ionia.

Relatives attending from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Whorley, Mr. and 
Mrs. Henry Stammers, Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Stammers, Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert 
Bowersersault, Mr. and Mrs. William Simpson, Mr. and Mrs. George Stammers of 
Saginaw; Mr. and Mrs. Robert LaFouche of Kalamazoo; Sid Lewis of Flint and 
Miss Francis Fuller of Portland.
