Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 Apr 1999

Richard R. Laiza, 70, of Ionia, passed away April 8, 1999, in Ionia.  He was
born June 14, 1928, in Ionia, the son of Martin and Rose (LaPar) Laiza.  He
married Barbara Reusser Nov. 5, 1948, in Ionia.  He was a member of the Ionia
Moose Lodge.  He loved woodworking and many outdoor activities.  He is survived
by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; son, Mark (Renee) Laiza of Lewisville, Tx.;
daughter, Vicki (Gaylord) Miller of Portland; sister Virginia (Cliff) Ferguson
of Ionia; and his beloved grandchildren Tiana, Theo, Ethan and Cameron; several
nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brother Martin John. 
Funeral services for Mr. Laiza will be held Monday, at 1 p.m. at the Shiloh
Community Church with the Rev. Ken Harger officiating.  Interment will be in
Easton Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, Sunday
evening from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  Anyone wishing, may make contributions to
Shiloh Community Church or American Heart Association.
