Born in Morabia, Austria, October 6, 1892, he was a son of Thomas and Eve Laiza. He married Rose LaPar in 1921 in Ionia. She preceded him in death in 1963. He made his home at the present address since his marriage. Mr. Laiza retired in 1961 following employment at Stafford Manufacturing Co., Ypsilanti-Reed and Mitchell-Bentley factories. He is a member of First Christian church, a veteran of World War I and member of American Legion. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Clifford Ferguson a son, Richard, both of Ionia, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. May 8 at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home, under the auspices of the American Legion. Rev. Theodore Forbes of the First Christian church will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
