Ionia Sentinel Standard, 18 Sep 1959

Foster Lake, 63, of Muir, died Thursday at 10:30 p.m. at the Veterans hospital
in Dearborn where he had been a patient for the past five weeks.  He was a
veteran of World War I.

Mr. Lake was born October 20, 1896 in Mecosta county, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Lake and was married in 1919 at Blanchard to Viola Sprague who survives
him.  

A son, Austin, was killed in 1951 in Korea.  Surviving besides his wife are four
sons, John of Lansing, Foster, Jr., of Ionia, Melvin of Bath and Lloyd of Muir;
four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Pennington of Ionia, Mrs. Nora Stafford of Augusta,
Mrs. Janet Billinger of Maple Rapids and Mrs. Betty Northrup of Muir; 18
grandchildren, three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the North Plains church.
 Burial will be at North Plains cemetery.  Arrangements were made by the Estep
funeral home of Muir.
