Leo O Lake, 92, passed away on April 24, 2011 at Trillium Woods. He was born in 
Mecosta County, the second oldest of nine children of Milton J. and Sara Ruth 
(Main) Lake. He was a graduate of Western Michigan College. He subsequently 
lived in Kalamazoo for many years, where he worked as a chemist in the paper 
industry. He moved to Grand Rapids in 1998.

Leo was predeceased by his first wife, Marian Jean Lake in 1996 and by his 
second wife, Louise Gabe Lake, in 2010.

He is survived by his three children, Leo R. (Mary Beth) Lake, Catherine Lake 
Ellsworth and Ellen A. Lake; his four grandchildren, Sara Russell, Elizabeth 
Lake, Christopher (Anne) Ellsworth and Bjorn (Tara) lake; and his three great 
grandchildren, Tony Russell, Valerie Russell and Abigail Ellsworth.

He is also survived by his brother, L.G. Lake; brother-in-law, Stanley Abbott; 
and sisters-in-law, Virginia Lake and Jeannette Lake, as well as numerous 
nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC, 4010 
Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Grand Rapids on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. A private 
interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo at a later date. In 
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the local food bank of 
your choice.
