Funeral Friday. Leaves Widow, Four Sons and Three Daughters. The Burt Lake family left Lake Odessa about 1917 after several years residence here. The family were very highly respected and many friendships were made. One son Lester married the daughter of Harland Sweitzer, just southeast of Lake Odessa. The family were associated with the Methodist church and the children in high school here. They moved to Grand Rapids where they had lived before. Mr. Lake was employed in the furniture business. After a six weeks’ illness Mr. Lake passed away at the age of 80, Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Second Street Methodist church and burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, that city. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Bertha A. Clark Lake; four sons, three daughters, and a sister. The sons are Lester C. Lake of Lake Odessa, O. Floyd of Kent City, Herbert C. of Manistee, and Arthur of Grand Rapids. The daughters are Mrs. Edith Hough of Caledonia, and Mrs. Ruth Rose and Mrs. Harriet Duiven of Grand Rapids, Miss Charlotte J. Lake of Lansing is a sister. One son died in the World war.
