The daughter of Raymond and Katherine Blumberg Broomfield, she was born March 10, 1950 in Greenville. She was a 1968 graduate of Central Montcalm High School and had been employed at Gill Industries in Grand Rapids. Sharon was a woman of strength who was very devoted to her family. She especially enjoyed “spoiling” her grandchildren, as well as traveling and camping. She is survived by her parents, Ray and Kate Broomfield of Sheridan; children, Jeri Kay and Jeremy Jensen of Sheridan, Patrick Lake of Greenville, Jay and Denise Lake of Stanton, Tam and Joseph Saur of Greenville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marcia and David Krause of Greenville, Kathy and Roger Guild of Hoffman Estates, Illinois; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Lorrie Broomfield of Greenville; six grandchildren, Mista Kay Allen, Johnny Paul Allen Jr., Ryan Lake, Anna Lake, Leigha Saur, Ellie Saur; several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday at Brown-Teman & Christiansen Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson, pastor of First united Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Envelopes for memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan—Big Rapids office are available at the funeral home where the family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
