The Belding Banner, Thursday, July 13, 1972


Funeral service for Clarence Arden Lake, 60, route 1, Baldwin, were held Friday 
afternoon at Huffman Funeral Home.  Rev. Edward Oosterhouse officiated.  
Interment was at River Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Lake died July 4 at Baldwin.  He had been a resident of Belding for 30 
years.  He was born in Branch, Lake County, April 17, 1912.  He was a veteran 
of World War II and retired from Ionia State Hospital in 1968 after working 
there 16 years.

Mr. Lake is survived by three daughters Mrs. Lester (Darlene) Winters of Bay 
City, Mrs. Herbert (Sheila) Whorley of Belding, and Mrs. Steven (Sharon) Bailey 
of Okemos; one son Arden Lake of Carson City; two sisters Mrs. Leona VanderWall 
of Fremont and Mrs. Miriam Pratt of Alma; two brothers Guy Lake of Greenville 
and James Lake of Belding; and nine grandchildren.
