Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Jan 1986

Burton M. Lake, 66, of Ionia, died Sunday morning at St. Mary’s Hospital in
Grand Rapids.  He was born in Ionia County May 6, 1919, the son of Henry and
Bernice Monks Lake.  

He married Ialene Wells Sept. 6, 1940, in Ionia.  A veteran of World War II and
was for many years a farmer in the Ionia area.  For eight years he was employed
at the Chrysler Trim Plant in Lyons before its close.  He was a member of the
Mitchell-Bentley VFW Post, No. 3732, of Ionia.

Surviving are: his wife; a daughter, Sue McGlamery of Ionia; two sons, Dale of
Trufant and Larry of Ionia; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Wilbur
(Beulah) Young of Orleans.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the Montgomery-Leddick Funeral
Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. 
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  The family will be at the funeral
home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  

He was preceded in death by a brother, James.
