Lake Odessa Wave 
          LENGTHY ILLNESS TAKES KARL LAKE
   Karl B. Lake, 63, died at Albion Community Hospital Friday, November 18,
following 4 1/2 years of illness.
   He was born January 26, 1914,  in Hastings, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis A.
Lake.  He married Norma Tolles July 11, 1938 in Ponca City, Okla..  Mr. Lake spent his 
early years in Colon, graduating from Colon High School and Argubright Business College 
in Battle Creek.  He moved to Albion in 1935, and had been in foundry sales most of his 
life, retiring from the Albion Malleable Division of the Hayes-Albion Corporation in 
November, 1976 due to ill health.
   He was a member of the Albion First United Methodist Church;  member, past
president of the Duck Lake Country Club, Albion Elks Lodge #1798, American Foundrymen's 
Society, past president of Lakewood Ohio Swim Club and was very active in the Boy Scouts 
of America.
   Surviving are his wife;  one son, Karl Edward Lake of Kalamazoo;  one grandson,
one brother John Lake of Saline;  and one sister, Mrs. V. Gerald (Francis) Seavy of 
Breckenridge, Colo.
   Services were held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Albion chapel of the Tidd-Williams
Funeral Chapels in Albion, Rev. Lynn DeMoss officiated with burial in Lakeside Cemetery, 
Lake Odessa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the 
Albion first United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
