Lake Odessa Wave 
          LOCAL MAN PASSES AWAY
   Laurence D. Lake, age 40, of 931 Fifth Ave., Lake Odessa, passed away Sunday,
July 9 at the Belding Community Hospital.  He was born October 13, 1937 in Belding, 
the son of Richard and Vergie (Mathis) Lake.  
   He attended Cedar Springs and Grand Rapids Central Public Schools, also Grand Rapids
Junior College.
   He married Betty Jo (Johnson) in Belding June 25, 1971.  He was employed as a
sales man with Western Kraft Paper Company of Grand Rapids and was a member of the Lake 
Odessa Lions Club.
   Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo;  one stepdaughter, Janeneine Stralton at home,
and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lake.
   Services were held Wednesday, July 12 at the Pickens-Kooops Funeral Chapel in
Lake Odessa.  Burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
