LAKE, 58, Easton township farmer, died Monday (January 10, 1944) at 2:30 a.m. at his farm home after an illness of several months. He was born December 11, 1885, in Mecosta county. His early life was spent in Mecosta county. June 14, 1916, he was married to Sarah Ruth Main in Isabella county. The couple lived in Mecosta county for about six years after their marriage, then they moved in 1922 to their present farm home in Easton. He is survived by his widow, Sarah; seven children, Hersel Lake of Laingsburgh, Lieut. Leo Lake, attached to the army air force and stationed at Seymour, Ind.; Ammie Lake, Morrison Lake, L. G. Lake, George Lake and Celestine Lake, all at home; his mother, Mrs Anna Lake, of Millbrook; five brothers, Rance Lake of Belding, Clarence and Edward Lake of Blanchard, Henry Lake of Lansing and Foster Lake of Muir; three sisters, Mrs Nora Brisboy of Millbrook, Mrs Carl Ward of Remus, and Mrs Clifford Johnson of Mt. Pleasant. A son, Gaylord, died in 1939, soon after he had graduated from Ionia high school. Funeral arrangements will be announced later, pending the arrival of Lieut. George Lake. The body will repose at the Stone funeral home." "Deaths - MILTON J. LAKE - Funeral services for Milton J. Lake, 58, of Easton township, will be held Thursday, January 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Orleans Methodist church. Services will be preceded by a family prayer service at the home in Easton where he reposes. Burial will be in Orleans cemetery." "MILTON J. LAKE - Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Orleans Methodist church for Milton J. Lake, 58, Easton township farmer. Rev. C. A. Brady officiated and burial was in Orleans cemetery. Relatives attending services from away were Mr and Mrs Hersel Lake and family of Laingsburg, Lieut. and Mrs Leo Lake of Seymour, Ind., Mr and Mrs Phillip Main of Royal Oak; Mrs Verna Batchler and Mr and Mrs Harold Snyder and family of Pontiac; Mrs Beulah Bradeen of Kalamazoo; Mr and Mrs Roy Strong, Mr and Mrs Joseph Diehl, Mr and Mrs Theodore Lesky, Ronald Baker and Mr and Mrs Carl Ward of Remus; Irving Main, Mrs Nora Brisboy and Mrs Anna Lake of Millbrook; Mr and Mrs Edward Lake, Mr and Mrs Clarence Lake, Mr and Mrs Orval Lake and Jack Lake of Blanchard; Mr and Mrs Clifford Johnson of Mt. Pleasant; Mrs Gracie Hinebaugh and Henry Lake of Lansing; Orval Hinebaugh of DeWitt, Mr and Mrs Rance Lake of Belding, Foster Lake of Muir. Friends who attended from away were Mr and Mrs Charles Snyder of Marshall, Mrs Cecil Stevens and Mrs Harry McCabe of Lansing."
