Funeral will be held from Orleans church with interment in Orleans cemetery." Ionia Sentinel, MI, undated: "Deaths - GAYLORD T. LAKE, 19-year-old son of Mr and Mrs Milton Lake of Easton township died at the Blodgett Memorial hospital, Grand Rapids, Sunday afternoon, April 23, following a serious illness of one week. He was removed to the hospital Saturday from his home when his condition became critical. He was born near Remus in Mecosta county, January 12, 1920. He was graduated from the Ionia high school with the class of 1937 and was a member of the FFA. He attended the Haynor school prior to graduation. Surviving besides the parents are his grandmother, Mrs Anna Lake, of Mecosta county and (grandparents) Mr and Mrs I. H. Main of Mecosta county; five brothers, Herschel Lake, of Easton and Leo, Morrison, L. G. and Georgie at home and two sisters, Amy and Celestine, at home. Funeral services will be held from the Orleans Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon, April 26, at 2 o'clock preceded by prayer services at the home at 1:30 o'clock. The Rev. C. A. Brady, pastor of the Ionia Church of Christ, which the deceased attended, will officiate. Interment will be at Orleans cemetery." Ionia Sentinel, MI, undated: "Deaths - GAYLORD T. LAKE - Funeral services for Gaylord T. Lake, 19-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs Milton Lake, were held Wednesday afternoon, April 26, at 1:30 o'clock from the home and from the Methodist Episcopal church of Orleans at 2 o'clock. The Rev. C. A. Brady, pastor of the Ionia Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was at Orleans. Pallbearers were Orville Hawkins, Wesley Blow, Elbert Jenks, Leonard Johnson, Royce McKendry and Dale Edlin. Mrs. Elliott Hodges and Mrs Dale W. Kauffman, accompanied by Mrs Ted Bloomer, sang, "Does Jesus Care?" and "In the Garden." Flowers were in charge of the Misses Pauline Halsted and Hazel Hawkins. Among those attending from away were Mr and Mrs I. H. Main, Mrs Anna Lake, Mr and Mrs Roy Strong, Mr and Mrs Joe Diehl and family and Mr and Mrs Clifford Johnson of Remus; Mr and Mrs Carl Ward, Mr and Mrs Ed. Lake, Mrs Brisby, Mr and Mrs Orville Lake and Clarence Lake of Blanchard; Mr and Mrs Phillip Main and family of Royal Oak; Mr and Mrs E. C. Hinebaugh and Mr and Mrs Orville Hinebaugh of Weidman, and Forest (Foster) Lake, Miss Pauline Lake and Miss Nora Jane Lake of Muir. "Card of Thanks - WE WISH to express our thanks to our friends, neighbors and relatives for their help and comforting words, for the beautiful flowers and to all who by their friendly acts helped us through our days of sorrow.
