CLARENCE DANIEL): DAILY NEWS, Greenville, MI, pg 8B: "OBITUARIES - ADA "PEGGY" LAKE, 84 - GREENVILLE - Ada "Peggy" Jeanette Brown Lake, 84, of Belding, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004, at Spectrum Health United Memorial Long Term Care Unit, Greenville. She was born Sept. 8, 1920, at Ann Arbor, the daughter of Raymond A. and Caroline (Steward) Brown. Peggy was raised by her parents in the former Brown Funeral Home in Greenville and was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1939. She resided in Belding for many years, where she was a longtime member of American Legion Post 203 of Belding. She was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn in 1990 and Jim Donovan in 1994; granddaughter, Kathy Lake Daller in 2003; and brother and wife, Larry and Helen Brown. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Gay and Tom Chickering of Rockford, Steven and Laura Lake of Greenville, Thomas and Tammy Lake of Delton, Daniel and Eva Mae Lake of Belding; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Memorial services are noon Saturday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with the Rev. Ken Harger officiating. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion Post in Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice or Shiloh Community Church."
