Wave, Thurs. Feb. 15, 1979 EAST LANSING- Mrs. Ruth V. Lake, age 80, of 131 Maplewood Dr., East Lansing, passed away February 1 at a Provincial House at East Lansing where she had been a patient a short time, after a long period of ill health. She was born September 17, 1898, the daughter of Harlan and Mary Sweitzer of Woodland Township, attended the Woodland School and graduated from the Lakewood High School with the class of 1915. She attended Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. and was employed by the War Risk Insurance during World War I. She married Lester C. Lake, Feb. 5, 1921 and they resided in Chicago for a number of years before returning to the farm home of her parents on Jordan lake Road. They later moved to East Lansing where they have resided since 1943. Mrs. Lake was employed by the State of Michigan Department of Administration as an account executive for 18 years, retiring in 1960. Surviving are her husband, twin daughters, Mrs. Howard (Mary) DeWolf of East Lansing and Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Hart of Northville and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at one o'clock at the Gorsline-Runciman East Chapel, East Lansing, with interment in Eastlawn Memory Gardens at Okemos.
