LAKE, SHIRLEY JUNE (SMALLEY) (MRS. L. G.):
   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI; 5-19-1983, page 3:  AREA OBITUARIES - SHIRLEY
JUNE LAKE - SARANAC - Shirley June Lake, 47, of Saranac, died Tuesday in Grand
Rapids St. Mary's Hospital.
   She was born Nov. 21, 1935 in Ionia, the daughter of Jason and Gertrude
Kanouse Smalley.
   She married L. G. Lake May 29, 1954 in Ionia, and lived most of her life in
the Ionia and Saranac areas.
   She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ionia.
   Survivors include her husband, L. G.; three sons, Dale of Saranac and Dirk
and Dane at home; one daughter, Dawn Klinesmith of Ionia; and three grandchildren.
   Also surviving are her mother, Gertrude; two brothers, Kenneth Smalley of
Sheridan and Eugene Smalley of Ariz., and three sisters, Vivian Bishop of Ionia;
Barbara Cook of Lansing and Geraldine Griffin of Sparta.
   Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. from the First United Methodist
Church, with Rev. Carl Hausermann officiating.
   Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
   The family will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
   A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society, in the care
of the funeral home.
