Obituary: "HENRY C. LAKE - IONIA - Henry C. Lake, 87, of Yeomans St., Ionia, died Saturday morning [July 24, 1982] at his residence. He was born in Millbrook, Mich., October 10, 1894, to Thomas and Anna (Winnie) Lake. He attended rural schools at Millbrook. He moved to the Ionia area and married Bernice Monks on August 7, 1926, in Ionia. He worked at the Hayes Body Shop and moved to DeWitt where he lived for 18 years while employed at Reo in Lansing. His wife preceded him in death July 16, 1939. After retiring, he returned to Ionia to be near his sons and daughter. He had lived here the past 16 years. He is survived by one son, Burton, of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur (Beulah) Young, of Long Lake, rural Orleans; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Bernice Johnson, of Chippewa Lake, Michigan. One son, Roy, preceded him in death in 1975. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Leddick Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Harger of Shiloh Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Orleans Cemetery. A memorial fund for Shiloh Community Church has been established, in care of the funeral home.
