JAMES RICHARD LAKIN SR.
Died Sunday May 23, 2021-age 87
Born January 8, 1934, son of Harold and Mabel Lakin in Portland.
Preceded in  death by his parents, daughter; Jacklyn Renee Lakin, siblings; 
Douglas, Barbara and Kenneth.
Survived by wife of 66 years, Janet Lakin, three sons; Jim (Ashlee), seven 
grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and brother Roger Lakin.
Jim had vast knowledge & passion for property development and construction, 
helped build communities and home for the needy, both in U.S. & South America.
Served in US Army during the Korean War Conflict.
Jim enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, backpacking, & camping with 
family.
Member of South Church in Lansing,MI and active greeter for years.
Jesus was his Lord and Savior & he was a shining example of God's love to his 
family & friends.
Visitation to be Sunday May 30th at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 
p.m. at South Church (5250 Cornerstone Dr.,Lansing,MI 48917).
