Jan. 12, 1922 W. Sebewa & E. Odessa Clement LaLonge, an old resident of this vicinity, died Sunday morning at his home on the Bellevue road. Mr. LaLonge was 69 years old and came her from Canada when a young man. He leaves a widow. The funeral was held at the home Tuesday at one o'clock; burial in Letts cemetery. Funeral sermon by Rev. Hammomd. Clement LaLonge was born Jan. 3, 1853, at Northville, Mich. He was one of a family of five children. In his infancy his parents moved to Amherstburg, where he lived until 1878, when he came to Sebewa, Mich. Sept 19, 1999. He was united in marriage to Alma Kammerer. They made their home in Sebewa until they purchased the farm on which he died, having lived there about 16 years. About six years ago his health began to fail. Since that time he has not been able to do much of his work. He was taken to his bed about a week before his death, which occurred Jan. 8, 1922, at the age of 69 years and five days. He leaves a faithful wife, a mother, two sisters, Mrs. W.A. Hunt and Mrs. Robert Johnson, both of Canada, and one brother, James Luke, of Orange, Mich. The elder brother died two years ago. There are other relatives, besides many friends, who sympathize with the wife in her sorrow. The funeral services were held in the home Tuesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R.A. Hammond. The burial was made in the Letts cemetery.
