DOD: Thursday, 14 December 1911 Last Thursday noon as the Banner was about to go to press the sad news reached us that Edward M. Lamb, senior member of the old and well known firm of Lamb Bros. had passed away after a short illness with lagrippe, followed by a stroke of paralysis. No death in our city for many months has caused such a gloom to settle over the city and community. Edward M. Lamb was born in the city of Monroe in eighteen fifty-three, and when a small boy moved with his parents to Ypsilanti where he resided till he came to manhood, after which like many another young man he tried the destinies of the great west being located for sometime at Minneapolis, from whence he came to this city about twenty years ago. Eighteen years ago he was joined in matrimony to Miss Emma Moulton a popular lady of this city who still survives him. Deceased was fifty-eight years of age and leaves beside his wife three sisters and four brothers, who mourn the loss of a greatly beloved brother. Funeral services were held at the late home on Saturday morning conducted by Rev. Floyd Keeler, Rector of Holy Trinity church, after which the remains were taken to Ypsilanti where they were placed in a vault for burial on the family lot later. Short services were also held at the chapel in Ypsilanti. An honest man, beloved by all who knew him, Belding will miss him greatly. The casket was literally buried beneath a mountain of beautiful flowers and floral pieces, all bearing mute testimony to the love and esteem in which deceased was held by all. The brothers surviving are John Lamb of Ypsilanti, Charles Lamb of Charlotte, Fred Lamb of Ann Arbor, and Harry A. Lamb of this city, the sisters, Mrs. Susan Henwood of Brantford Ont. and the Misses Jane and Elizabeth of Ypsilanti. Mr. Lamb was a member of the Fortuna Lodge Knights of Pythias, of which he was a highly esteemed member.
