Dorothy I. Lambert, 83, of Saranac, formerly of Florida and Ionia, died 
Monday, Aug. 12, 1996 at Lakeview Lutheran Manor Nursing Home in Cadillac.  
She was born Aug. 3, 1913 in Ionia, the daughter of Sam and Hilda (Green) 
White.  She was educated in Ionia schools and was married to Lester Ward and 
to Roy Chase, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons; Donald Ward of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Gary 
(Laura) Chase of Missouri; three daughters; Karen (Ron) Root of Cadillac, Kay 
(Oliver) Whitaker of Lansing, and Glenna (Forest) Wellman of Saranac,  15 
grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.  She 
was preceded in death by her daughter Darlene.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Cook Funeral Home 
in Ionia with Rev. Dorothy A. Prins of Center of Life Fellowship of Alto 
officiating.  Interment will be in Tuttle Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the 
Rich St. Chapel on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Choice of the Donor.
