BELDING- Walter S. Lambertson, 78, died at his home, 409 E. Washington Street, 
shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday after a week’s illness with flu followed by 
heart trouble.

Mr. Lambertson was well known in Belding, having been associated with the 
Belding Savings band and other banking circles for 33 years. He retired in 1933 
and had been in poor health since the holidays. He was born June 25, 1871 in 
Orleans Township, son of Edward and Elsie Lambertson. He attended the rural 
school and took a se in the Ionia schools. Mr. Lambertson came to Belding in 
1900 from Carson City. Before entering the banking business, he was a salesman.

He was an ardent sportsman and held membership in the Belding Sportsman’s club; 
was a life member Belding lodge No. 355, F&A.M.; a member of the Scottish rite 
of Grand Rapids; former member of the K.P. lodge; past president of the Ionia 
County Bankers’ association; and a member of the Goodfellowship club.

Services arrangements are being made by the Ellis funeral home where he 
reposes. The balding Masonic lodge will have a part in the interment service 
which will be held in River Ridge cemetery.

Surviving are the wife, the former Lola L. Peterson of Oakfield; a daughter, 
Mrs. Louise Vaughn, of Pontiac; one sister, Mrs. Ola Graff of Orleans, Mrs. 
Graff is visiting in Washington D.C. but is expected home early in the week for 
the funeral.
