In 2022, Rod retired from Lacks Enterprises after 34 dedicated years,. he was a skilled woodworker for most of his adult life and pt love into every piece he made.He also enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, traveling to ball parks around the country. One of Rod's biggest and most rewarding passions was making Christmas magic for many children each year.He wanted everyone to believe the spirit of Christmas and took great pride in this role. He truly found just as much joy in it as he created. Rod was a true family man and is survived by his wife of 32 years, Peggy; parents,Jim and Sandy; children, Kevin (Heather), Shannon (Tyler),Christina (Dave), Kathy, Philip (Katy), Richard, and Joe (Theresa); grandchildren; James,Finn, Nolan,Justin (Kaylee),Jason (Tiffany), Jessica, Ross, Mathilda(Aaron), Landin, Maddix, Wyatt, Seth, Rylee, Monique, Richard,Tommy and Kyler; 12 great-grandchildren siblings, Danny(Tina),Cheri (Joe); a handful of special nieces and nephews, many other "children and grandchildren" he took under his wing, and countless friends. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday May 13th, 12-4p.m. at the Ionia County fishing and Hunting Club with in Bertha Brock Park in Ionia,MI. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to Hope academy of West Michigan,3300 36th St.SE.Grand Rapids,MI 49512. Hope Academy was very special to Rod. Donations will ensure the Christmas spirit lives on for many of the children there.
