Ionia Sentinel Standard - 2011


Betty E. Lamphere, 82, of Muir/Middleville, went to her heavenly home on Feb. 
12, 2011.

She will always be remembered as a wonderful wife and mother who put others 
first. Betty had a real heart for those in need, taking care of any stray 
person or animal that crossed her path. Betty started her teaching career in 
the rural school system and finished working for Ionia Public Schools. Betty 
loved gardening, sewing, and baking. She was a faithful servant to her church 
and its members.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Larry, and son, Steven. 

She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her children, Lyndon 
(Erin), Kevin (Stephanie) Timothy and Tamara Rowley (Scott); and grandchildren 
Elliot, Madeline, Clark, Brenden, and Lauren, and many other special relatives 
and friends. 

The family will hold a Christian memorial service with friends and family to 
celebrate her life at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4 at Muir First Christian Church, 
followed luncheon.

Memorial contributions can be made to Muir First Christian church, Lions Club 
of Muir, or Barry County Hospice.
