Matthan M. Lamphere, 19, of Saranac passed away October 22, 2004 in his home.  
He was born November 4, 1984 in Grand Rapids the son of Michael and Mary 
(Trierweiler) Lamphere.  He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.  
Matthan graduated from Saranac High School in 2003, where he designed the front 
cover of the 2003 yearbook.  He attended Grand Rapids Community College, worked 
for Boston Township Hall and Iron Mike’s Gym and was an active blood donor.

He is survived by his loving parents Michael and Mary Lamphere of Saranac; 
brother Michael J. at home; sisters Marcie (Steve) Montgomery of Charlotte, 
Misha R. at home; grandparents Mrs. Nina Trierweiler of Saranac, Mrs. Helen 
Lamphere of Ionia; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. today at St. Anthony’s Catholic 
Church with Father Thomas Hack celebrant.  Rosary will be held 10:30 a.m. at 
the church.  Interment will be held at Saranac Cemetery.  The family received 
friends and relatives Monday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  Anyone wishing 
may make memorial contributions in Matthan’s name for a scholarship fund for 
Saranac High School or St. Anthony’s building fund.
