Lampman, 70, of 1304 Jordan Lake avenue died Monday evening at Blodgett Memorial hospital in Grand Rapids where he had been a patient ten days. Born January 2, 1897, he was the son of George and Carrie Emery Lampman of Shiloh. He was a veteran of World War I with the army stationed in the states. In 1918 he was married to Ilo Gilliland of Lake Odessa and lived in Sheridan 35 years, where he owned and operated a service station 20 years. He moved to Lake Odessa after retirement five years ago. He was a member of the following organizations of Lake Odessa: Central Methodist church and adult fellowship, Lakeside Barracks of World War I and Senior Citizens club. He was a past master of Masonic lodge of Sheridan and past worthy patron of OES; Watchman of Shepherds of White Shrine of Greenville, and member of DeWitt Clinton Consistory of Grand Rapids. He was also past commander of American Legion Post of Greenville. Surviving besides his wife Ilo are one son Burdette of Ionia; two grandchildren’ two sisters, Mrs. John Landis of Auburn, Calif.; Mrs. Floyd Baker of Lake City; three half sisters, Mrs. Leah Forest, Grand Rapids, Mrs. Kenneth Edwards of Holland lake, Mrs. Lawrence Pearson of Ionia; two half brothers, Harvey Teed of Sheridan and Lawrence Teed of Grand Rapids. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Rev. Luther Brokaw officiating. Graveside services will be under the auspices of Masonic lodge at Lakeside cemetery in Lake Odessa.
