WOODLAND- Henry Ford Landis, 71, of Route 1, North Clark Road, Woodland, died 
Saturday, May 21, at his residence.

He was born on December 29, 1916, the son of Benjamin and Grace (Hilton) Landis. 
He attended Woodland schools.

Landis married Mattie Inez Smith, who survives him, in 1956. He was a bulldozer 
operator for many heavy equipment companies across the state. He was also a  
member of the Operating Engineers Local 324.

He is survived by two daughters; Mrs. Leonard (Lisa) Lake of Charlotte and Mrs. 
Jesus (Tina) Medrano of Fayetteville, North Carolina; and one son; John Landis 
of Lansing.

Also surviving him are three grandchildren, one brother, Fred Landis of Woodland 
and one sister-in-law, Catherine Landis of Alto. One brother, Willard Landis 
preceded him in death. 

Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26, at 11 a.m. at the 
Woodland Memorial Park. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 
9 p.m. at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
