The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Friday, November 10, 1944

Mrs. William H. Landon, 78, died Thursday afternoon at her home in South Ionia 
after a short illness.  Mrs. Landon had moved to Ionia three years ago from 
Grand Ledge.

Nellie Viola Landon was born in Keene township February 7, 1866, and had lived 
her youth life there later going to Lowell.  March 7, 1896 she was married to 
Frank P. Hill.  July 18, 1906 she was married to William H. Landon, who 
survives her.

Other survivors are seven children, Mrs. Mary Louis Messinger, of Lake Odessa, 
Dan J. Hill of Lansing, Mrs. Lydia B. Challender of Charlotte, Mrs. Leda B. 
Bullard of Ionia, Mrs. Ida Estella Schreiner of Grand Rapids, Carl F. Hill of 
Grand Ledge and William H. Landon of Grand Ledge; 20 grandchildren, six great 
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Caldwell of Rockford and Mrs. Daisy 
Gillett of Dalton; and a brother, Bert Covert of Miles City, Mont.

Final rites will be Monday with a prayer service at the home of her daughter, 
Mrs. Charles Bullard, in South Ionia at 1 p.m. with services at the Mulliken 
Methodist church at 2 p.m..  Burial will be in Meadow Brook cemetery.
