Lake Odessa – A retired Odessa township farmer, Roy C. Lane, 87, of route 2,
Lake Odessa, died Thursday afternoon at a rest home in Lowell, following a
lingering illness.  He was a patient at the home the past two months.

Born in Lowell, November 11, 1880, he was the son of Edward and Savenna Lawyer
Lane and came to Odessa township at the age of 11.  October 6, 1899 he was
married to Jennie Henderleider of Lake Odessa and spent his entire married life
on a farm in Odessa township.

Surviving are three daughters Mrs. William Allen and Mrs. Edna Normington both
of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Claude Baribeau of Detroit; one son, Edward of Hastings;
eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake
Odessa with Rev. Marvin Zimmerman officiating.  Burial will be in Lakeside
cemetery.
