June 3, 1965 Services Held for Maurice Wm. Lane Funeral services for Maurice William Lane, 52, were held Friday night at 8 p.m. at the Pickens Funeral Chapel with burial in Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Luther Brokaw officiated. Mr. Lane passes away Wednesday forenoon at his home at 635 Tupper Lake Street, after a lingering illness. A native of Leicester, England, he came to Battle Creek with his parents when ten years old. He married Rose Fisher, February 3, 1946 in Detroit and they moved here in 1953. He was employed at the Fisher Body Plant No. 2 in Grand Rapids until his health failed. Mr. Lane, a World War II veteran, was awarded the Bronze Star in the Battle of the Bulge. Surviving are his wife; three daughter, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Campbell of Riverside, Calif., Mrs. Gene (Carol) Wison of Battle Creek, and Priscilla at home; one brother, Alfred Lane of Fraser; two sisters, Mrs. George (Winnie) Rowe of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs.I da Skipp of England and five grandchildren.
