Mrs. Lane was born December 6, 1857, in Commerce, Oakland county, the daughter of Rev. Cyrus Juliette Weaver. She spent her girlhood days in Oakland county and moved with her parents to the farm in Boston township. She was married March 28, 1874, to William H. Lane. There were four children, and two, Fred and Claude, preceded their mother in death. Mr. and Mrs. Lane resided on a farm in Boston township for 12 years and in March, 1886, they moved to Ionia where they have resided the past 49 years. Mrs. Lane was a member of the Methodist church and for three years she served as president of the Women's Relief corps. She also served one year as president of the Spanish-American war auxiliary and was chaplain of the K. L. of S. lodge for two years. Surviving besides her husband are two daughters, Mrs. Elsie VanVleck, at home, and Mrs. Edith O'Dell of Pontiac; one grandson and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted from the home 132 Cleveland street Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. M.W. Duffey, pastor of the Methodist church officiating. Interment will be at Highland Park cemetery.
