Langdon, son of Samuel and Dorothy Langdon, was born at Gull Corners, Kalamazoo county, July 12, 1866, and moved with his parents near Grand Rapids when three years old. He lived there until he was united in marriage on June 14, 1888, to Belle Doremus of Grand Rapids. They immediately made their home in Hubbardston where they have resided since, spending their winters in Florida for some few years. Mr. Langdon was taken ill at his winter home in Sarasota, Florida, December 8, and was in the hospital 15 days. His two sons and a granddaughter visited him during his sickness. His many friends in Sarasota made his bedroom a bower of flowers and they were always greeted with a cheery smile. Mr. Langdon improved enough in health to be driven back to Michigan early in April and was able to be about the house until June 1 and spent the remaining days in bed. He departed this life Monday evening, June 15, after a six month’s illness and was laid to rest at West Side cemetery on Thursday, June 18. Rev. William Dale Robinson officiated at the services. Surviving him besides his wife are three children, Charles, Paul and Alice, all of Hubbardston; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Munhsaw of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. O. P. Geib of Carson City; and a host of friends. All of the immediate relatives were present at the funeral.
