Mr. Lange sustained a fall at the car shops through a trap door in December of last year, and was invalided since, the illness being complicated by a weak heart. Mr. Lange was one of the veteran employees of the Pere Marquette railway, being in the employ of the company forty years continuously. He came to America from Germany in 1878, coming direct from the fatherland to Ionia. Mr. and Mrs. Lange were married in Germany, but their three children: Emil Lange of this city, and Mrs. C.A. Winters and Mrs. W.T. Thorne, both of Lansing were born in Ionia. The wife and three children survive. He was an active and greatly esteemed member of the Arbetier society of this city since its organization in the early eighties. Funeral services at the late home, 566 North Union St., at 1:30 o’clock on Thursday afternoon and at 2:00 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran church, Rev. B.H. Succop officiating.
