Mr.Lankton was born on November 3, 1907 in Grand Ledge, the son of Charles & Rosa Bell (Vickery) Lankton. He graduated from Lansing, High School in 1925. He was married to Ada Simon who preceded him in death in 1948, he married Dorothy Barnum Rohlman on September 5, 1953 in Lansing, She survives. He was employed at Oldsmobile in Lansing as a painter for 40 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church of Lake Odessa. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, one daughter, Claudine Hanner of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; one son, David Lankton of Sunfield; four step-sons; Ronald Rohlman of Southfield, Richard Rohlman of Pewamo, James Rohlman of Muskegon,& John Rohlman of Lake Odessa; two sisters, Carol Dudley of Lansing, Pauline Shoemaker of Lansing; one brother, Forrest Lankton of Lakeland, Florida; 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, March 18 at the St.Edwards Catholic church, Lake Odessa with Father Robert Gillespie officiating. Burial was at St.Joseph Cemetery, Lansing, MI.The rosary was recited Wednesday at the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging.
