Lanz, 79, of 1899 E. Peck Lake Rd., Ionia, died Tuesday afternoon at Ionia County Memorial Hospital. She was born October 23, 1905, in Ionia Township, the daughter of Myron and Minnie Clark Riggs. She was married on October 1, 1927, in Berlin Township to Max A. Lanz. He preceded her in death October 8, 1974. She lived in Orange Township most of her life. She was a member of LeValley Methodist Church, the Berlin Center Grange, Orange Thimble Club and Farm Bureau. Surviving are four sons, William and James of Lyons, Max Jr. of Curitiba, Brazil, and Robert of Ionia; three daughters, Eleanor Potts of Tucson, Ariz., Mary Tasma of Ionia and Joyce Gwilt of Portland; one son, David, preceded her in death in 1950; two sisters, Ivah Keene of Ionia and Elva VerMuelen of California; 33 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at LeValley Methodist Church. The family will be at the Roetman Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial has been established for the LeValley United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home. _______________________________ Friday, February 1, 1985 ZELDA E. LANZ IONIA- Funeral services for Zelda E. Lanz, 79, of Rural Ionia, who died Tuesday were held Thursday at 1 p.m., from the LeValley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Willis Braun officiating. Organist was Ann Felice. Pallbearers were Paul and Joel Tasma, Steve and Robert Gwilt and John, Mark, Tim and Phillip Lanz. Committal services were held at the church with later burial in Balcom Cemetery. Following services, lunch was served to family and friends by the women of the LeValley church.
