He had two sisters and two brothers and is the last one to go. He also had three half sisters and two half brothers; one half sister and one half brother survive him. At the age of 14 he came with his mother to Ohio, coming to Michigan in 1855. Returned to Ohio in 1857 and married Sarah C. Clarey April 8, 1858 and to this union three boys were born. He came with the wife and two boys to Michigan in 1863, settling in Sebewa, Ionia county, where Eddie, the third son was born, who died in 1875 at the age of four years. The family lived on their farm in Sebewa until May 10, 1891, when they moved to Sunfield where they lived 10 years then moving to Lake Odessa in 1901. Here the wife died February 14, 1909. Seven years later, Sept. 14, 1916, he married Alice R. Plant, who has been a faithful companion in his declining years and cared for him thru his months of pain and suffering. He leaves the wife, two sons, George of Portland and Charlie of Lake Odessa, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral services were conducted at the late residence on Tupper Lake street by Rev. Hatfield of the Sebewa Baptist church of Friday afternoon, April 6. Interment in Lake Side cemetery.
