Lake Odessa Wave - Thurs. December 14, 1961

Melvin Lapo, 79, Died Last Thursday
Melvin lapo, 79, passed away Thursday evening at  his home on Ainsworth Rd., 
route 4, Ionia, where he had resided for the past 28 years. A native of Sebewa 
township, his parents were alonzo and Grace Lapo. He was a well driller by trade 
but had been in ill health for the past three years.

Surviving are his wife Lula; a daughter Mrs.Hazel Albright of Lyons; two sons, 
Raymond of Lake Odessa and Robert of Hastings; a brother Clyde of Flint; a 
sister Mrs.Mabel Guinan of Lansing; four grandchildren and 3 step-children.

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton Funeral Home at 
Ionia with burial at Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Elmer Ubbink of the Lyons Baptist 
church officiated.
