May 2, 2018 DIXIE MAE LARSEN,80 Dixie Mae Larsen, 80, went to be with the Lord on April 29, 2018, surrounded by her family. Dixie was born on Aug. 18, 1937 to Elmer and Nina Wiles in Ionia at their home. After attending Ionia Public Schools, she married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Charles Larsen. Together with unconditional love, hard work and tons of fun, they built a life on Sayles Road in Ionia, Michigan where they raised their three children; Connie Jo, Julie Ann and Charles Raymond. Their family enjoyed many years of camping, snowmobiling, annual trips to Cedar Point and always having family gatherings. Dixie was a great cook and loved to bake. She could make a fabulous meal out of anything and have enough to serve anyone who sat at her table. Dixie started her career of 25 years with Independent Bank as a teller and retired as a Branch manager in Lyons. In the later years Chuck and dixie enjoyed playing golf, traveling around the united States, and wintering in sunny Florida where they met many good friends. Dixie was a long-time member of Easton United Methodist church where she served her church faithfully and loved her church family dearly. Dixie is survived by her children Connie (Dan) Frazer, Julie (Bruce) MacDonald, Chuck (Tina) Larsen, she was a beloved grandmother to marcie (Andrew) Gates, Danielle (Craig) Fedewa, Jena (Mat) Winters, Katelyn (Nick) MacDonald, Emily (Layn) Welker, Amber (Jason) Bishop, Jordan Larsen, and Derrick Larsen. Her pride and joy were her 12 great-grands-Addison, Hosea, Joel, Gabriel,Eloise (Gates), Carter, Hudson, Lily, Miles (Fedewa), Codi (Winters), Logan and Larsen (Welker). She is also survived by her brother Robert Wiles, sister-in-law Evelyn Wiles, brother and sister-in-law's Bea (Dale) Hauter, Vic (Sherrie) Larsen, nieces (Who were like sisters) Mary Ward and Sally (Loren) Seidl along with many other adored nieces and nephews. Dixie is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Raymond and Grace Larsen, Husband, sisters Jane (Andy) Walaskay, Arlone Payne, brother Max Wiles, brother and sister-in-law's Judy wiles, Donna (Jim) Huntley, Chester Larsen, David Larsen. A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, May 2, visitation 10-11:30 a.m. and Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. with luncheon to follow at Easton United methodist Church In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dixie's name to Easton United methodist church.
