Francis Larson, age 82, of Ionia passed away December 3, 2004.  He was born in 
Ionia, June 14, 1922 the son of William and Josephine (Aldrich) Larson.  He 
graduated from Ionia High School in 1939.  He was enrolled in, and completed 
the Agricultural Program at Michigan State University.  He married Doris Rubach 
on May 22, 1943 who preceded him in death in 1986.  He married Joyce November 
5, 1993.

Francis owned and operated Fran-Lar Holstein Farm with his son-in-law, Jim 
Huver.  Francis was a member of Shiloh Community Church, the Farm Bureau Board 
of Directors, LeValley Church Board, Michigan Milk Producers Associations, the 
Ionia Free Fair Dairy superintendent, Independent Milk Producers, Balcom 
Cemetery Association, American Breeders Association, and he was a 4-H leader 
for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Larson of Ionia, daughters Sue (Jim) Huver of 
Ionia, Judy (Gary) Volker of Jenison, Sherri (Jim) Kelley of Ionia, Deborah 
(Nick) Almasy of Grand Ledge, sons Bryant Adams of Ionia, Scot (Sue) Adams of 
Forest Hills, brother William (Anita) Larson of Elk Rapids, sister Joyce Evans 
of Battle Creek, grandchildren Andrew, Anthony, Kelly, Abe, Adrien, Amanda, 
Katie, Jackie, Kevin, Anna-Leigh, Nicholas, Ellie, Renae, and special nephews 
and nieces.  

Services for Francis will be held at the Shiloh Community Church on Tuesday at 
11 a.m. with Pastor Ken Harger officiating.  The family will receive friends 
and relatives Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia.  Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions per the wishes 
of Fran’s family.
