Anita Arlene Larson, 86, of Elk Rapids, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 
23, 2013 at Munson Medical Center. She was born Oct. 3, 1926 in Montcalm County 
to Julius and Anna Hansen. On May 15, 1948, Anita married the love of her life 
William A. Larson. Anita dedicated herself to raising their four children and 
managing life on their farm in Ionia, Mich.

After moving to Brighton, Mich., in 1974, Anita became a highly successful real 
estate agent with the Michigan Group.

She and William retired to their beautiful home on Elk Lake in 1994. She 
treasured visits there with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also 
enjoyed traveling with William.

Anita was active in the Ionia Methodist Church, Literary Club and Child Study 
Club. She played on golf leagues at the Ionia and Elk Rapids Country Clubs. She 
was a member of the Elk Rapids First Presbyterian Church and a former member of 
the Garden Club. Anita was an accomplished seamstress and always an avid Bridge 
player.

Anita will be greatly missed by her husband of 65 years, William Larson; 
children, Gale (Lainie) Larson of Grand Ledge, Mich., Joanne Pretz of Manassas, 
Va., Nancy Glines of Bethlehem, Pa., and Neil (Karen) Larson of West Palm 
Beach, Fla.; her grandchildren; Kristina, Kevin and Kyle Glines; Katherine 
Condon, Anne Reboredo, Joanne Johnson, John Pretz and Mark Pretz; and great 
grandchildren; Clara, Meghan, Humberto, James, Lillie, Patrick and one on the 
way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four siblings and son-in-law John M. 
Pretz.

A private family service will be held and a public service will be announced at 
a later date.

William and his family wish to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of 
the Munson Medical Center Seventh Floor Stroke Unit for their kind, personal 
care.

Memorial contributions in Anita's name may be directed to Munson Hospice and 
Elk Rapids AmVets.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home of Elk Rapids.
