July 31, 2021 WILLIAM "BILL" ALDRICH LARSON WILLIAMSBURG William "Bill" Aldrich Larson, 94, of Williamsburg, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at home. He was born May 25, 1926 in Ionia, the son of William and Josephine (Aldrich)Larson. On May 15, 1948, he married Anita Hansen of Greenville, Michigan. A member of the "Greatest Generation,"Bill was a proud Marine who served his country during World War II. Following his honorable discharge he purchased a farm of his own in Ionia. He soon also worked for Peschke Packing Co., where he advanced to Plant Manager and Director of Sales. Upon their closure he was an independent broker for Hygrade Sara Lee Foods. Bill was an active member of several service clubs throughout his life. He served on the Antrim County Board of review and Planning Commission. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed playing golf and bridge, tending his vegetable and flower gardens, wood turning, hunting and boating. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents, and his brother, Francis Larson of Ionia, Michigan. Bill is survived by his sister, Joyce Evans; his daughters Joanne Pretz of Manassas, Virginia and Nancy Glines of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; sons, Gale Larson of Grand Ledge and Neil Larson of Kingsland, Georgia; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Friends are welcome at the graveside service to be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2020, at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids and a Celebration of Life reception immediately following at the Historic Elk Rapids town Hall.
