Josephine D. (Aldrich) Larson, 95, of Ionia, died Saturday, May 27, 1995.  She 
was born June 15, 1899 in Berlin Township to the parents of George (Grave 
Hicking) Aldriel.  She attended Ionia High School and graduated from Mt. 
Pleasant Normal.  She taught at Randall School and Loomis School.

She married William Larson on October 21, 1920.  She was a homemaker, a member 
of LeValley Methodist Church and the women’s society, in which she held 
several positions and taught Sunday School.  She was a member of the Literary 
Club and a member and held position of Home Extension and Farm Bureau and she 
also worked on the National County Census.  She enjoyed knitting, crewel, 
reading, quilting, gardening, writing, reciting poems, traveling and crossword 
puzzles.

She is survived by two sons: Francis G. (Joyce) Larson of Ionia; William A. 
(Anita) Larson, of Williamsburg; one daughter, Joyce L. Evans of Battle Creek; 
7 grandchildren; Sue Huver of Ionia, Judy Voelker of Jenison; Col. Gale Larson 
of Canon Air Force Base New Mexico; Joanne Pretz of Manassas, Va.; Nancy 
Glines of Bethlehem, Pa.; Neil Larson, of West Palm Beach Garden, Fla. and 
Gregory L. Evans of Alexandria, Va.  She was preceded in death by her husband, 
William Larson, July 1975.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at the LeValley Methodist Church, in 
Ionia.  The Rev. David Flagel will officiate.  Burial will be in Balcom 
Cemetery.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 
p.m. at the Lake Funeral Home, in Saranac.  Memorials may be made for the 
LeValley Church Memorial Fund.
